I really thought I was going to be better about keeping up with this blog, but apparently I have proven myself WRONG! The main reason being that our life is just not that exciting...at least our exciting is probably not on the same level as other people!

Just some updates to get you caught up with where we are...
Ryder is now almost 5 months old! It's insane how fast time has flown with him in our lives. I am truly blessed with one sweet, rambunctious, Tristan-looking baby! Tristan and I are constantly talking about how thankful we are that we get to be parents to such an amazing little human (granted it also makes us terrified of what our second will be like!) At his 4 month check-up, he was a little under 16lbs (75th percentile), and a shocking 28in long (90th percentile)! We're not sure where that height is coming from, but we'll take it! He is rolling over, army crawling, and kinda sitting up...it lasts for about a minute before he falls over. We are still working on sleeping through the night...he does it sometimes, but it's definitely not an every night kind of thing yet. Suggestions welcomed!

We are very excited to be welcoming so many new babies into our lives this next fall. My sister, Brooke, recently found out she is expecting a baby boy in late September, and one of my best friends, Skyla, is having a baby girl in early September. I've always prayed for (and begged my sisters) to make sure that at least one of my kids has a cousin his/her age, and God has answered that by bringing us Baby Brice...Ryder is even more excited because he gets a BOY cousin! :)  As far as Skyla goes, our group of friends have always loved the idea of having babies at the same time, so we are so happy for her and for our little ones. It's such a special blessing to be able to say that your childhood friends' kids will be childhood friends with your own. We look forward to many summer vacations with the Teats!

After lots of going back and forth, I've decided to attempt to find a teaching job in the fall. Tristan and I would like to settle down somewhere other than where we are (South Texas), and I'm just ready to get out of the house. He plans to continue to work down there, but we would travel back and forth on weekends between two places. We are not dead set on an ideal location, nor do I have designated place I want to teach/work, but we both agree we want to be in a small town. I'm starting to apply a little late in the game, but we will see what happens...if I don't get one, then it's just not time.

Hopefully, I'll be writing again sooner than later! Until then, here's some pictures from the past couple of months of our growing boy (and Tristan's new truck)!

It's been way too long!

Between finding time and actually remembering, I'm finally updating this blog! It's hard to believe the last time I did a blog post we were waiting on Ryder to get here and now he's already almost 3 months old!! Time flies when you're having fun (and when you lose so much sleep)! We have been blessed with a very happy and healthy little boy!

Just a little bit about Ryder Michael Lee Sopish... He was born on Thursday, January 19th at 12:47 p.m. and weighed 6lbs 10oz and was 19.5in long. He was pretty tiny, but he took no time to fatten up! My little man is finally eating every 2-3 hours instead of 1.5-2 hours! He talks and smiles non-stop, but gets really upset if he's not acknowledged. I've been getting a hard time about him being spoiled, but like my Grandma has always said he's not spoiled, just well loved! ;) He came out looking just like his daddy, but we're finally starting to see a little bit of me in him, especially his eyes. And the talking is definitely a momma trait! :) We are so incredibly blessed that he has been so easy! Makes me scared to have a second!! Lol

I will try to keep this updated more often from now on!! Here's some pictures...you've probably already seen them on FB/instagram though! :)

Beyond blessed...

I hope everyone had a Christmas as blessed as ours! I'm so incredibly thankful that we are apart of families that love us so much, and that we love even more! After a wedding and planning for a new baby so close to the holiday season, we are definitely worn out, but the exhaustion is worth every second.

Today has been full of excitement all on it's own because we had a doctor's appointment and made a huge purchase. The appointment wasn't a big deal because I'm only 35w6d, so it was merely a check-up, but I still get super excited about every visit because it means we're getting that much closer! As for the purchase, we got a new car...all starting with Tristan taking my car to get washed... I never knew a $10 car wash could be so expensive! :) I'm very excited about my new ride though, and I'm so blessed to have a husband who works so hard to fulfill our wants (more importantly, our needs). That's about all the excitement in our lives at the moment...you'd think after over a month of not posting, I'd have more to share!

We're looking forward to a very happy, exciting, blessed New Year with Ryder's arrival, and can't wait to ring in 2012 with some of my best friends!

30 weeks and counting!

I seriously can't believe it's already Thanksgiving! I think that every year when this time rolls around, but this year time flying has a whole new meaning because it means Ryder will be here before we know it....SCARY!

I'm now going to the doctor every 2 weeks, and the last time I went (a week and a half ago), I got my last ultrasound and found out our little man has some chubby cheeks already, but he's still kinda little. He weighed 2.7lbs, and the doctor said that if she were being more specific she'd classify him as a "small/medium" baby. At that appt. she also made her guess for his birth weight. Her hopefully accurate guess is that he'll be between 6.5-7lbs, and that I probably won't go the full 40 weeks (which means I probably only have about 7-9 weeks left). I'm definitely okay with him being small as long as he's healthy because we can get him nice and chunky after he's out! I'll post a picture of his face from the ultrasound, but he wasn't cooperating very well at all, and for whatever reason (maybe I didn't drink enough water or something) the pictures all turned out a little fuzzy, so be forewarned: you may have no idea what you're looking at! I'll try to label without ruining the picture...

I definitely think he's going to have Tristan's round shaped face...we shall see!

On another note, I've always known that I'm a picky person...about food, clothes, etc., but never did I think it was going to be SOOOO hard to find baby bedding that I liked! I'm not into nursery themes really...I'd prefer to have the prints/solids I like, but be able to add in cute stuff without it being all western, or all cars, or all elephants..I'm sure you catch my drift. Finally though, I found a print that I am absolutely in love with! It's really nothing special probably to anyone else, but the colors have my imagination going crazy! But now comes the hard part....I'm going to try to make the crib bumper myself. Probably not the greatest of my ideas, but I really think I can handle it after my last couple of months of Pinterest inspired sewing practice, so wish me luck! Can't wait to post a picture as soon as it's done!! One more picture to post and then I'm done...Ryder's first monogrammed diaper bag is officially ready for showcasing! :)

I wanted the name a little bigger and lower, but it still turned out cute!

Hope everyone has a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving!

Is it January yet?!

To start off, I want it on record that I am so excited and feel so blessed that God has entrusted me to bring a life into this world, and not just that, but that I get to share this process and life with Tristan...

With that being said, I just want it to be known that pregnancy does not make me feel like I'm glowing or anything along those lines that people always say. I know every pregnancy is different, but I fall into the "this is not comfortable" category. Besides the amazing kicks, punches, and rolls he likes to throw my way, the other feelings are so annoying...I feel FAT, bloated, pale, cranky, nauseous, exhausted, and hungry all at the same time! Not to mention people always ask about cravings and I want to reply, "The only thing I'm craving is a dang margarita or glass of wine!" Oh, and a bottled water makes me capable of burping...scratch that...belching like no person should be able to do. Pregnancy is just so glamorous! On top of all this ranting, my doctor informed me yesterday that the real discomfort will probably start in a couple of weeks...yay. Then last night Tristan after I notice him staring at me says, "You are soooo pregnant!" Gee, thanks, I haven't noticed!

Ok, I'm done complaining, I have too much Pinteresting to do! :) And I told myself I would never publicly post belly pics, but I guess I will just this once so y'all can see the big difference in just a couple of weeks...so here's to 25 weeks of pure pregnancy bliss! Ha!

Hitched!

We are officially married! I couldn't feel more blessed at this point in our lives...my parents, along with other amazing family members and friends, made our wedding day so incredibly special and I can't begin to thank them enough!

I stole a few pictures from friends and family via FB, but I'll add some more when I can!

(This is my first blog from my phone so hopefully it works!)

To new beginnings...

I have decided it's time to start blogging (again). In less than a week I am marrying the most amazing man that God so perfectly placed in my life, and with my new Mrs. title is also coming a new home, so I decided blogging is the best way to keep everyone close to me updated on our wonderful life in South Texas. Not only is our wedding fast approaching, but we found out this past week that we are expecting a baby boy. Ryder (middle name is TBD) Sopish is planned to enter the world in late January. We are obviously doing things a little backwards, but God could not have blessed this little boy with two parents that love each other any more than we do! After a few days to relish in the fact that I'm going to have a little man, I've finally torn myself from all the cutesy, girly outfits/ideas on Etsy and Pinterest...thank goodness we still have 4 nieces! Tristan is already freaking out because 2 days after finding out the sex, he swore Ryder had more clothes than him.. :) ..he's about to learn pretty quickly how this baby stuff works in my family!

...it's not that much! :)
